Isaiah Hinton is dedicated to helping clients navigate dynamic challenges in technology and
privacy law, translating policy expertise and advocacy into the actionable protection of individual digital
rights.
Isaiah is a third-year (3L) student at the University of Maryland School of Law, where he is
concentrating his studies on cybersecurity, privacy, and technology law. Before attending law school, he
worked for a global entertainment company, where he spearheaded over 200 third-party security risk
assessments to ensure the security and safety of personal and company-sensitive data, while ensuring
regulatory compliance.
In law school, he combines his expertise in cybersecurity with a tenacious interest in security and
privacy law, complemented by a CIPP/US certification. He gained valuable experience working with a
data privacy think tank and a multi-national law firm, where he developed skills in statutory interpretation
through interactions with both state and federal legislation. He also exercised research skills, compiling
information on age verification efforts from international privacy regulators.
His research in law school includes an examination of novel children’s privacy legislation in the
United States and Europe. He has also contributed research on Brazilian content moderation and internet
law to the Maryland Journal of International Law, where he currently serves as Executive Notes and
Comments Editor.
